Kajal was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (India). She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2017 from Kirorimal College (University of Delhi). She then completed her master’s in 2019 from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. She joined IITK as a Ph.D. student in January 2021 and her current area of research is "Design and synthesis of metal chelators as a potential therapeutic against Mucormycosis".
